Warranty Information

Living Design Furniture products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement, refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The Guarantee Period commences from the date of your Tax Invoice. If a Product is replaced under this Quality Guarantee, the Guarantee Period for that replacement Product expires on the same date as the Guarantee Period for the original Product.

Exclusions (subject to the Australian Consumer Law)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the Australian Consumer Law, Living Design Furniture is not liable, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under any statute or otherwise, for or in respect of:

1. normal wear and tear (refer to the Caring for Your Furniture below). In this regard, please note that the following may occur as a result of natural and normal usage:
(a) leathers and fabrics will fade and crease;
(b) foam and fillings will soften and form the shape of the user over time;
(c) depending on the covering and the degree of use, the covering materials, cushion fillings and suspension may need to be replaced periodically at the purchaser’s expense;
(d) scars, marks and differing pore density and colour are natural characteristics of leather.

2. damage caused by spills such as acid, solvents, dyes or other corrosive materials, ink, paint, or bodily fluids;

3. damage caused by improper use, cleaning, negligence, treatment of the product with chemicals, exposing the product to the sun, extreme heat or bright light such as lamps, or otherwise caused by your acts and/or omissions; or

4. the cost of transporting the Product to and/or from the specified place of repair or replacement.

5. All pet damages.

6. The products that were sold as "floor stock" or "as it is" condition.

7. The warranty against defects is not transferable. It is limited to the original purchaser specified in the original Sales Order at the original delivery address. The warranty against defects only applies to products that are used for normal domestic purposes and excludes products used for commercial purposes.


Delivery condition

The following applies if you elect for a carrier arranged by us to deliver the goods (Carrier) instead of collecting or arranging your own collection and/or delivery of the goods.

It is important that someone is at home to receive delivery of your purchase on the designated day. No specific time of delivery can be provided. A four-hour time frame will be advised but cannot be guaranteed due to unforeseen issues may cause delays.

The outstanding balance on your purchase must be paid prior to delivery. At time of delivery, personal or company cheques will NOT be accepted. For security reasons, drivers cannot accept cash payments.

It is important that sufficient access is available to deliver the goods you have purchased. In cases where the goods need to be disassembled additional charges will apply. Lounges that need to be disassembled and reassembled will incur a minimum cost of $250 including GST plus any additional redelivery fees if the lounge delivered needs to be returned to the warehouse.

Once arrangement for a delivery day is confirmed, there will be a re-delivery charge if no person is at the delivery address on the day of delivery or the delivery is cancelled by the customer on day of delivery.

When receiving goods, please inspect thoroughly.  Any claims for scratches, marks, dents or other visible damage need to be reported within 24 hours, otherwise your claim will not be accepted.

All quoted delivery period on order is only approximate and delays of up to 4 weeks beyond the quoted delivery period may occur.

The Contract Carriers do not unpack, remove packaging, assemble new items or remove old furniture (unless these services have been specifically stated on your order). Disposal of all packaging materials are the customer's responsibility and will be left at the premises (delivery address). If you require additional services of assembly or package removal, you will need to inform the sales team prior to delivery of the purchase order as an additional fee will be quoted to carry out these services if available for your address. This must be paid in advance to be booked and cannot be accepted as CASH to the drivers or requested on the day of delivery. 

Assembly is not included with a standard delivery, unless specifically stated otherwise on your order. Where assembly is included, goods will be assembled by the Contract Carrier on premises, at the time of delivery.

The assembly contractor will not remove any packaging unless previously arranged & stated on your sales contract. The assembly contractor will not remove old furniture under any circumstances.


Collection of Goods

The following applies if you elect to collect or arrange your own collection and delivery of the goods.

We will not accept claims for scratches, indentations, marks, missing colour, or any other visible damage once you have collected the goods from our shop or warehouse. It is important that you inspect the goods thoroughly before taking the goods.

If collecting goods from our warehouse, you must contact our shop 48 hours prior to pickup and make an appointment. The contact details are on the front of this Sales Order.

Payment must be made in full at least 48 hours prior to collection of goods. 

In order to collect goods an original Sales Order & Payment Receipt must be presented.

Our health and safety policies prohibit our staff from lifting or moving furniture outside our warehouse. Please make sure you have sufficient help to carry and load furniture from our warehouse to your vehicle.


How to claim a warranty against defects

To be entitled to claim, the defect in the part or product must appear within the Warranty Period.

To claim under these warranties against defect , the Purchaser:

1.  must cease using the product immediately after the defect appears; and 

2.  must notify Living Design Furniture within 7 calendar days after the defect appears. Failure to do so may adversely affect your rights to a remedy under the Quality Guarantee, particularly when your failure to advise us causes additional loss or damage or defects in the Product.

3.  provide us a copy of the original Sales Order or tax invoice. 

4.  To make a claim, you can email us by sending us the copy of original tax invoice and providing photographic evidence of the fault

5.  Once a claim has been lodged with our service department, we will assess your claim, and respond within 10 business days.

6.  The Purchaser must bear the expense of making the claim, and the cost of all freight, house calls, labours and other items. 



As with any products, prolonged exposure of furniture to direct sunlight will harm it. Direct exposure to sunlight will cause the leather and fabrics to fade and may also cause excessive drying in leather. Direct exposure to sunlight will cause timber products to fade as well as darken the color depending on its type. It will also cause timber products, particularly doors, tops and side panels to crack or warp. It will also cause the colour of the stone products to fade. Please always keep away the furniture from the windows.



Please ensure that your furniture is used as it was intended. Do not sit on arms of lounges, and do not pivot on the back legs of chairs.

Clean your fabric lounge regularly. A weekly vacuum with low suction and a soft brush accessory will remove dust and damaging dirt particles, to help extend the life of your fabric and furniture.

Only use fabric cleaner designed for your fabric to clean your fabric lounge. 

If a thread becomes loose on the fabric, simply cut it off. Do not pull it.

Avoid harsh brushing and sharp objects (rings, buckles, toys) as it will cause snagging of threads.

Do not allow cats and dogs to walk on fabric upholstered furniture.

As many fabrics differ in properties, it is best to follow the unique care and cleaning instructions labelled on your fabric furniture.

Through regular use, a single or group of loose fibres on the surface can twist and form tiny balls, also known as pilling. This should not be considered a fault. A regular vacuum will help to minimise this, and pilling can be successfully removed using a fabric pill remover.

Avoid placing fabric lounge near heater. The furnishing fabric can absorb fumes from the heater, which can contribute to odour, discolouration and deterioration of the fibres. 



Important things to Avoid
1) If you are removing any protective wrapping, do not use any sharp tools which could damage the leather or other upholstered covering.
2) If you move you lounge, do not lift or drag it by the cushions which are sewn into the frame. The correct way to move it is by lifting the sofa, at each end, from the base.
3) Please do not sit on the armrests and backrests. They are not designed for seating and could potentially damage the frame.
4) Do no expose any part of the lounge to direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct or intense sunlight may cause leather to fade as well as excessive drying and cracking.
5) Ensure that every edge or part of the lounge is placed at least 100cm away from any heat source, including electric or gas leathers.
6) Never use solvents, abrasives, shoe or saddlery care products. Only ever use industry recommended leather care products suitable for the type of leather.

7) Keep pets off your leather lounge.

Normal Wear and Regular Usage
1) Softening of padding and cushions will occur over time. This will cause light creasing,
wrinkling and slight stretching of the leather which is considered to be normal wear,
enhancing the look and feel of leather.
2) Softening of seat cushions over time is completely normally and is not considered a defect
in any way. Sitting on one particular seat most of the time will cause that seat to soften more
than the others. For an even wear, alternate your choice of seat regularly.


Regular Care and Cleaning

1) Never use a vacuum cleaner on your leather lounge.

2) Apply a leather cleaner and conditioner regularly as this will keep the leather from drying out and developing cracks and peeling.

3) Wipe down with a clean soft dry cotton cloth regularly as this will remove dust from the leather and keep it looking its best.

4) Clean any spills immediately with a soft dry cloth.

5) Leather should never be cleaned by prolonged soaking in soap or water as this can damage the leather even more than the initial stain you are trying to remove.

6) Never use detergent, alcohol, chemical, wax, saddle soap or any cleaning products not designed so for your type of leather.



Please ensure that your furniture is used as it was intended. Do not sit or stand on table tops and do not pivot on the back legs of chairs.


Natural timber and veneer finishes will show distinctive variations and markings in timber nail holes, timber knots, bleeding, patches and colour variations which are evidence of being produced from genuine timber materials. Cracking may also occur due to changing environmental conditions. These are common and are not considered a fault. Always use protective heat coverings to protect against hot objects. A tablecloth is not sufficient. Always use coasters when placing glasses, bottles or cups on the surface. Regularly clean surface by wiping with a nonabrasive, damp soft cloth. Never close an extension table with sticky or acidic material on the surface.



Mattresses typically last many years, but a few simple procedures can add years to their lives and improve your sleep comfort as well.

Ensure you take extra good care of your mattress and following the tips below will ensure you get the best out your mattress.

Note: Mattresses with Pillow Top should only be turned around not flipped!

Rotate your mattress. Most people tend to sleep in the same spot on their mattress every night. This can lead to uneven wear on the coil springs that provide support. To minimise this wear and to maximise comfort, manufacturers recommend that you turn your mattress every two weeks in the first three months after purchase. After that, turn it every two months. To turn a mattress, rotate it head to foot and then flip it over. Further disperse wear patterns by rotating or flipping only on occasion.

Use a high quality, washable mattress protector to keep your mattress free from stains.

Clean stains with mild detergent or soap and a clean cotton cloth dampened with cold water. Do not use volatile chemical removers, as they can degrade the mattress fabric and underlying materials.

Do not allow your children (or adults!) to jump on your bed. Roughhousing can damage your mattress and avoid where possible animals sleeping in your bed.

Vacuum – The easiest way to tackle dust is to use the upholstery tool on your vacuum cleaner to go over the top and sides of the mattress and as much of the box spring as you can access. Press firmly on the tool to draw out dust beneath the fabric’s surface. Then use the crevice tool to get into the quilting, along the edge welting, and where any pillow top is attached. If you have a garment steamer, go over the mattress with the steamer before you vacuum to help kill and remove dust mites lurking near the surface.

Kill odors – For any telltale odors, spray the mattress and box spring with a recommended disinfectant spray which is safe to use on fabric.


Marble, Stone and Travertine are natural materials. Each piece is unique in veins, markings and patterns and colour variation. No two piece will be the same. 

The visible long lines, markings, and swirls on marble pieces are uniquely identified as veins or mottling. Veining plays a crucial role in defining the appearance and beauty of each marble piece, presenting variations in color, thickness, shape, and pattern. It's important to appreciate that these variations are intentional and add to the desired characteristics of the material.

Stone, marble and travertine are natural product. Whilst our products are sealed, stone that comes into contact with acidic substance including coffee, citrus, wine, tomatoes, alcohol, juice and even water can cause etching. Different to stain, etching is actually a corrosive reaction to the stone, which removes its surface layer. As a result, the exposed area is lighter and duller than it previously was. A stain on the other hand, occurs when a liquid penetrates the stone and causes discolouration within the stone. While our products are sealed, this cannot prevent etching.

Always use protective heat coverings to protect against hot objects. A tablecloth is not sufficient. Always use coasters when placing glasses, bottles or cups on the surface to prevent good and drink coming into direct contact with the stone wherever possible.

Any substance that comes into contact with your stone should be wiping off immediately with a warm, damp cloth. Never use abrasive to acid based product to clean.



Use a regular glass cleaner with an appropriate soft cloth for glass. Do not apply glass cleaner to surrounding areas or the frosted side of the glass. Always use a mat to avoid hot objects being in direct contact with glass. Avoid contact with sharp or hard objects as this will cause scratching. Never lift glass tops from the ends of a table as this will put unnecessary stress on the surface and may cause it to break.
